BUYING FROM ABROAD

Arranging a vehicle inspection for a remote purchase

Distance makes clear coordination between the buyer, owner and inspector even more important.

Confirm access before travel

Agree the location, who will meet the inspector and permission for the chosen checks. Ask what records are available and clarify any road-test arrangements.

Request findings with context

Photographs without explanation are insufficient. Ask for a readable summary, the limitations of the visit and points requiring additional checks. Scope and delivery time must be agreed before committing.

Keep decisions separate

Arranging an inspection does not validate the seller, payment or sale. Check those matters separately and do not assume the inspector has authority to buy a car or transfer money for you.

This is general reading guidance, not a diagnosis of a particular vehicle. The vehicle and agreed scope determine the service.

Your next car deserves a closer look.
